The Foolishness of Trying to Prove Whether God Exists!

I am always bothered by the arguments between theists and atheist
about whether god exists. It is completely pointless! Even though I
don't personally believe god exists (at least a christian god), I do
acknowledge that there is proof that god doesn't exists, and that
there are simply logical arguments that undermine the existence of

I recently watched a frightening documentary on CBS called "The Lord's
Boot Camp," which is about a bible camp located in Florida for teens.
I was frightened by this boot camp because it is so dogmatic; it takes
the position that Christianity is the only acceptable belief system,
and it strives to impose this belief system on others. I find it

I get a sense that atheists have a general view of Christians as being
unscientific or uneducated (I have been called ignorant already lol).
I understand this topic involves generalizations, but I believe that
certain atheists feel they could convince theists to accept their
opinion if the theists became educated. I would argue I have studied

Twelve step programs invoking a higher power have varied but
consistent success in the treatment of addictive or compulsive
behaviors. How are these clearly positive approaches viewed by the
atheist community? All of these programs involve spirituality (from
what I can tell), even if the Higher Power is not "God" per se.

Almost all the forums posts I read contain rants about this and that,
about why a person is a christian or an atheist, or just any
explanation of their beliefs. And, after reading through countless
posts, I've come to wonder if there is really any point to these
forums besides ranting. So has anyone ever converted from a believer

We are often told that in order to properly understand the bible, we
need the help of the Holy Spirit. However, it seems that this Spirit
leads different people to different interpretations. Why would this
be? If the Holy Ghost is part of (or the same as or whatever) the one
and only God, why doesn't it lead everyone to the same interpretations?
